I have tried, and will likely try again, to create a set of rules or guidelines for what defines a fabled life, a checklist that others could use to determine if the life they are looking at is an echo of a fabled character or just an accumulation of coincidences. I always fail. For those who are willing to listen to me long enough to ask a second question, the second question is often about this, the objective criteria. I don’t have objective criteria, at least not in the way most people mean it when they ask.  I always end up with the same single subjective criteria: The life rings true to the fable. More importantly, the life rings true from a distance.
